How Funding Works

The Space by AZM CIC is a Community Interest Company. This means that the Company exists to deliver community benefit and to support creative and cultural opportunity beyond private commercial interest.

Funding, sponsorship, donations, grants, partnerships and earned income may be used to support the Company’s mission, programmes and public-benefit activity.

How Funds May Be Used
Funds raised by The Space by AZM CIC may be used to support:

  • exhibitions
  • pop-ups
  • residencies
  • mentoring
  • creative development programmes
  • application and selection processes
  • venue costs
  • production costs
  • materials and equipment
  • marketing and communications
  • photography, video, design and documentation
  • accessibility and participation support
  • international cultural exchange
  • professional support for selected creatives
  • subsidised or supported access to services
  • administration, staffing and operational costs required to deliver the CIC’s work

Funds may also be used to develop the infrastructure needed to run programmes responsibly, including insurance, legal, accounting, website, governance, safeguarding, compliance and administrative costs.

Funding Is Not Guaranteed
The Space by AZM CIC is not a grant-making body unless a specific funded opportunity states otherwise.

The Space by AZM CIC is developing its programmes and opportunities through a combination of applications, partnerships, sponsorship, grants, donations, earned income and available resources.

Support for applicants or participants is not guaranteed and may depend on:

  • funding available at the time
  • programme capacity
  • sponsorship or grant conditions
  • eligibility criteria
  • suitability of the application
  • artistic or creative merit
  • community-benefit alignment
  • practical deliverability
  • safeguarding, governance or reputational considerations

Submitting an application does not guarantee funding, payment, selection, representation, exhibition, residency, mentoring or any other support.
